Clinical Consultation
Tim Baima is available for clinical consultation for licensed therapists as well as trainees and associates. He is available to meet occasionally by appointment, or by regular fixed appointments. For more information on qualifications and approach, please see Clinical Supervision.
Licensed and pre-licensed therapists tend to consult with Dr. Baima on the following:
If / how to engage families, parents, or couples in treatment.
Using play / expressive therapies with couples and families.
Addressing intergenerational patterns and stuck relational cycles in couples and families.
Developing systemic case formulations, treatment plans, and interventions.
Addressing issues of power, subjugation, and oppression with individuals, couples, and/or families.
Navigating power dynamics between the therapist and client(s).
Working through a therapeutic impasse.
Addressing self-of-the-therapist issues (e.g., personal bias, reactivity, self-doubt, anxiety, etc.).
Consultation Rates:
Individual By Appointment: $150 per hour
Individual Ongoing (minimum once per month): $125 per hour
Group (2-6): $225 per hour
Agency / Organization Consultation:
I am available for consultation to mental health agencies and other organizations. I have expertise in addressing relational dynamics related to social privilege and subjugation, particularly regarding white privilege and patriarchy.
I am also available to consult with mental health agencies and group practices on enriching services to couples and families.
Clinical Training:
I have over 15 years of experience teaching at a graduate level. Core courses taught include Practicum / Internship, Family System Theory, Couple Therapy, Child & Adolescent Therapy, Multicultural Counseling, Lifespan Development, and Diagnosis & Assessment. I have taught elective courses in Family Play Therapy, Kenneth V. Hardy’s PAST Model, Narrative Therapy, and Satir’s Model.
I have published, and presented numerous times at professional conferences on the topics of white privilege and patriarchy. I have conducted numerous agency trainings on topics ranging from addressing whiteness and internalized racial superiority to engaging couples and families in play therapy.
