Individual Therapy

Individual therapy can be an invaluable resource to heal from past experiences, support personal empowerment, and nurture personal growth.

Some clients seek individual therapy to address unresolved loss or trauma. Some are looking for ways to manage issues such as anxiety and depression. Others seek individual therapy for support in navigating difficult relationships.

Some are seeking support in making and sticking with significant life decisions, while others are searching for deeper meaning in their lives. Many feel worn down for struggling for respect and acknowledgement in the workplace and other larger systems.

Often, people are wrestling with an interaction of all of these issues. Regardless of your needs, it is our top priority to provide clients with a therapeutic relationship characterized by authenticity, honesty, compassion, and validation.

One of the most central ideas that guides our work with individuals is that true, lasting, holistic growth must be nurtured. All sorts of tactics can lead to change – fear, shame, and emotional suppression just to name a few. But change by these means comes at a cost to our sprit and well-being.

Learning to nurture ourselves in a way that supports growth and empowerment through all aspects of self may be among the greatest challenges in our life, but ultimately generates far more satisfying and sustainable outcomes. Therefore, we often explore clients’ relationships with themselves as we collaborate on supporting the change they want to bring into their lives.

We draw upon several theories and models of treatment to facilitate a process attuned to each client’s needs. Some of these theories and models include; Attachment Theory, System Theory, Feminist/Multicultural Theory, Intergenerational Approaches, Humanistic Models, Internal Family Systems, Trauma-Informed Care, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
